As we head towards another half term holiday, I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone and how much we have packed into this term.  Year 11 are already half way through their GCSE examinations and I am sure they are looking forward to a well-deserved chance to recharge their batteries in preparation for the task ahead.

This week the Lipson Dance Academy Show took place in the Muse theatre and proved to be an inspiring performance, showcasing the fantastic abilities of our talented students. Performers held the audiences undivided attention for what proved to be a great night of entertainment.

Congratulations to our under 12 girl’s football team who came second in the Devon FA County Finals. This competition is made up of the best teams across Devon all competing to be County Champions! The girls were pipped to the top spot by Coombeshead who narrowly beat us 1-0. Nevertheless, finishing second in the whole of Devon is an unbelievable achievement for our team. Some of which, at the start of the year had not played competitive football before. Well done girls on such a fantastic season.

Thursday was another busy day for Athletics with three mini buses full of enthusiastic and committed athletes ready to receive expert coaching at Brickfields Athletics arena. This is part of the training and preparation for our Athletic Finals day in June, keep up the good work everyone!

We were so pleased this week to be invited to Bovey Castle to showcase the work of our talented Art students who are the only students to be invited to take part in the Dartmoor Otter Trail. 100 otters have been created by artists in order to be part of the Trail and three of them were created by Lipson students. We are looking forward to seeing them on the Otter Trail itself!

It just remains for me to wish you all a restful half term and look forward to welcoming you back in June.
