PRINCIPAL – LIPSON CO-OPERATIVE ACADEMY, PLYMOUTH

 11-18 Academy 

Salary: Group 7 £87,732 - £101,574 (L33-L39)

 Start date:  1 January 2020 

NOR currently 1012, including 173 in Sixth Form

 

This is a rare opportunity to lead an established academy in an idyllic location.  We are seeking to appoint an exceptional leader who will continue to put our students at the centre of all that we do and build on the strengths of our co-operative school with a clear vision to further inspire and empower our students, staff, parents, and the local community.  

They will have the energy, joy, drive and resilience to motivate the whole school community, whilst possessing a sense of humour, humility and willingness to understand, embrace and nurture the distinctive and ambitious inclusive ethos of this Cooperative Academy.

Support Staff

FINANCE OFFICER 37 hours per week all year round

Grade D NJC points 8-14 Salary £19,945 - £22,462 per annum

We are looking to recruit an experienced, qualified individual with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.  The role will play a key part in the day to day financial management of the academy and also with financial reporting and auditing requirements.    Applicants should have excellent excel skills and be familiar with computerised accounting packages.  Training will be provided.

FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT 25 hours per week term time plus 1 week during August

Grade C NJC points 5-7 (Actual salary £10,875 - £11,314)

A committed, trustworthy and hardworking finance & administration assistant is required to join our busy admin team.  It is a varied role supporting many aspects of the academy’s finance and administration functions including purchase ledger, banking monies, managing online payments, dealing with petty cash and liaising with staff and suppliers.  The role will also involve undertaking general office and administration duties including mail merge letters.  Applicants should be proficient in the use word and excel. Training will be provided.

SCIENCE TECHNICIAN 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day, term-time plus 1 week. 

Grade C NJC points 5-7 (Actual salary £10,875 - £11,314) 

A flexible, adaptable technician is required to facilitate the teaching of science throughout the academy by providing technical, practical and administrative support to teachers and students within the Science faculty.  We are looking for a team player with a commitment to taking an active role in the science faculty to support the learning of our students.

CARETAKERS (2 POSTS) 37 hours per week all year round

Grade D NJC points 8 – 14 (£19,945 - £22,462)

We are looking for reliable, approachable and adaptable individuals to join our premises team.  Responsibilities include:

  • - Ensuring the site and buildings are clean, hygienic, safe and that equipment is well maintained and cleaning stock is replenished.
  • - Being proactive in managing site issues e.g. porterage duties, clearing spillages & breakages, leaf removal, undertaking remedial repairs etc.
  • - Undertaking minibus driving duties
  • - Managing site security including opening & locking premises at beginning and end of the school day.

Previous experience is desirable, in particular DIY skills.  Familiarity with electronic systems would be advantageous e.g. CCTV systems, fire alarms, access control systems & building management systems.

ART/MEDIA TECHNICIAN GRADE C (£8,477 - £8,819 Actual salary)

20 hours per week, 4 hours per day term time only

A competent and effective Art Technician is required to provide technical support to students and staff within the art and creative media department.  The role will involve preparing materials and resources, maintaining equipment and supporting students with their art courses.
