As we come to the end of what has been a fantastic half term I had the pleasure of attending my first Celebration Evening at Lipson last night. There really is nothing more important than celebrating the success of our talented students and recognising the hard work and dedication they have given to their studies and extra curricular activities. One of our governors who attended last night emailed to say what a joy it was to see the award winners brimming with pride as they accepted their certificates. I would like to thank all the staff involved with the evening, both in the run up, behind the scenes and front of house. It really was a very professionally run, spectacular evening of celebration.
This half term has certainly been very busy, Ofsted came and went, resulting in a positive article in the Evening Herald acknowledging all the hard work and transformation that is taking place here at Lipson at the moment. We have finished the term with a couple of great staff appointments who will compliment the fantastic staff we already have here. We will welcome our new Business Manager, Simon Hunter and History teachers, Jack Reynolds and Simon Diskin after Christmas.
Finally, my career is now complete, I got to lift the FA cup which was in school this week. Unfortunately there were no green and white ribbons available so I had to make do with the famous blue and white of Sheffield Wednesday. Does it get any better than this?!
Many thanks for your continued support and have a very restful, well deserved half term break.
