Exams have continued to run smoothly again this week, with students really getting to grips with the rigorous timetable of assessments.  Behaviour has been very good and I feel extremely proud at how calm students have been which shows great maturity.

There will be revision sessions running throughout the half term holiday so please encourage your children to attend and make the most of this last minute opportunity.  I’m sure there will be treats to make the sessions more enjoyable!

Final letters for our Enrichment Days went out last week, so you should all know by now exactly the plan for this exciting week.

There are a number of Year 10 students who still haven’t handed in their work experience forms.  It is vital that these are handed in asap to ensure placements can be arranged.  Work Experience is such a valuable, eye- opening experience for our young people, demonstrating what life is like in the real world.  If you need any assistance in completing these, please telephone the main school number or send your child to the main admin office.

The Silver Duke of Edinburgh Assessment took place last weekend and was a great success.  Miss Geraghty couldn’t speak highly enough of the students involved on what was a fantastic expedition. A full write up will follow.

It was great to hear about Year 8 student Arjun Shrethna whose swimming club presented a cheque of £385, raised as a team in the Plymouth swimathon in March. Arjun had also raised money on his own ‘mydonate’ fundraising page in the swimathon in which he raised £485 for the St Luke's Hospice and the New Life Charity.  A fantastic outcome. Well done Arjun.

We have been busy making arrangements for various transition events to welcome our new Year 7 students into Lipson.  After half term there will be Uniform Sizing Evenings and a chance to meet some of the teachers for a coffee and chat.  Parents will be able to discuss any queries they may have regarding starting secondary school.  I look forward to welcoming them all at what will be a very exciting time for them.

I would like to wish you all a very enjoyable half term break and look forward to welcoming you all back on 4th June.
